The Paxton Hotel Licensee History


On the 13th of July, 1923, Ralph "Beau" Osbourne Thompson applied to the licensing authorities to transfer the licence of the Family Hotel at Wollombi (which has since been demolished) to premises to be built on the corner of Millfield and Hall Streets, Paxton.
1 year later Thompson's application was successful. The Paxton Hotel was officially opened on the 9th of August, 1924.

To date, the hotel has had 20 different licensees over its 80 years of operation.

Michael Jenness was owner till around mid 2007 when the hotel was bought by the Pubboy Group who refurbished the hotel insdie the main bar and added a new beer system with John Giblet as licensee and it was then sold in late 2008 to a Sydney investor.The current licensee is chef/manager Damiane Beethem.
